Why did the UK vote to leave the European Union?
Economy People that believed that BREXIT was a good thing saw it as an economic opportunity for Britain. this was the opposite to the Remain Campaigns who saw BREXIT as a warning for economic decline. this differed slightly because of voters feeling economically behind as a result of membership of the EU. people who wanted leave the EU liked the idea of free trade and a free market, they may have seen the EU as a threat to their freedom in the market. they see potential for trade with countries outside of the EU which they see as more valuable than the trade deals already established within the EU. they believe that due to the EU regulations for trade no longer being a problem for Britain they see it as a way to boost Britain in the market. Examples of politicians who agree with this idea are Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees-Mogg.
